Prometheus
BindPlane OP uses Prometheus as its agent measurement time series backend.
BindPlane supports connecting to a remote Prometheus installation as an alternative to its bundled Prometheus. Remote installations are great for operating BindPlane with high availability.
The Prometheus instance should be dedicated to BindPlane, and not shared with other services.
Prometheus Installation and Configuration
There are two methods for installing Prometheus. Linux package and manual installation. The recommended installation method is to use the Linux package. This package installs Prometheus pre-configured to work with BindPlane.
Configuration
After installing Prometheus on a dedicated instance, you will need to update your BindPlane server(s) configuration file to connect to the remote Prometheus server.
