3. Install Your First Agent
Now that BindPlane OP is running, we'll install our first agent to start collecting telemetry.
BindPlane OP is built around OpenTelemetry and uses the BindPlane Agent distribution for OpenTelemetry. To learn more, check out the GitHub page.
Installation
- Navigate to the Agents tab and select the Install Your First Agent button inside the Agent table.
- Our Agent Installation wizard will walk you through installing an Agent. The first step is to select the platform you'll be installing an agent on. When you've completed the form click the Next button.

Installation for containerized agents on Kubernetes and Openshift first requires you to specify the assigned configuration for the agent. If that's the case you must first create a configuration for that platform.
- Now it's time to install your agent. Installation differs depending on the platform specified. In the case of Windows, macOS, or Linux installation you'll need to copy the installation command. Installed agents will appear in the table on this page. When you're done you can view all agents with the *Return to all Agents** button.
Upon successfully installing the agent, it will appear in the table below the install script.
